Kia ora whānau

Our Year 7-8 ākonga have had a wonderful time on camp at Forest Lakes:
Part of the week involved travelling to Wellington to visit Te Papa, competing in an amazing race across the city and then visiting Parliament. On Tuesday, Room 1 and Room 4 were able to witness a lively debate amongst the parties, which was certainly entertaining. The highlight for many was when they received a wave from the Prime Minister, Christopher Luxton. A huge thank you to the many staff and parents who supported this camp.

Next week Wednesday evening, our talented Swimming Team will compete for the Turnbull Cup:
This is a traditional event. Our top swimmers will compete individually before the team tries to retain the Turnbull Cup, which is the trophy for the best large school relay team. They will also compete for the Centennial Cup for the overall best relay team against all the schools. All the best to our swimming team.

We are holding our own Weetbix TRYathlon on Thursday 6th March:
Below are some important details you need to know: THE COURSE: Children will start the event at the pool, where the children will swim varying widths/lengths (depending on age or ability). From here they will get out of the pool and complete a run which will take them to school. They will then collect their bikes or scooters. Children will complete the TRYathlon by either cycling or scootering around the school, finishing off with a run onto the top field and through the finish line where they will be presented with a medal. For more information including Youtube videos of the course, go to https://stratfordprimary.school.nz/aim-high-3/sps-weet-bix-kids-tryathlon/
