Kia ora whānau

Tomorrow we have lots of exciting events happening around our Kura. 

The assembly will be held at 9.15am in the hall. All whānau are welcome to attend. 

We have Inglewood Primary School visiting tomorrow for a Year 5-6 Sports Exchange. A whakatau (informal welcome) will be held in the wharenui at around 10.15am before the various sports begin. 

Whānau Day: Key Information

  • Coffee Cart: Whānau attending the welcome in the hall will have the option of grabbing a free coffee from 11am outside the hall entrance. 
  • Senior ākonga will be at the hall around this time. They will be welcoming whānau and are asking them to complete a short survey. 
  • To receive a portion of Hāngī whānau will need a token. Collect the last few remaining tokens from the Office before the welcome in the hall.  
  • Whānau need to be seated in the hall by 11.30am. Please sign in when you arrive. In the event of an emergency, whānau will move to the main entrance. Order of events:
    • 11.30am: A welcome by the Kapa Haka Roopu and Mr Elder. This will include a short video about the school, house keeping for the day and biscuits/tea and coffee to end the welcome.
    • 11.50am approximately: Whānau will be able to visit classrooms. 
    • 12.30pm approximately: The Hāngī is lifted and brought to the hall. 
    • 12.45pm approximately: Classes will be called to the hall’s side entrance, come with your tamariki for your sample of Hāngī. The order will start with Year 1-2, then Year 3-4. Teachers will guide whānau when this happens.
    • End of the day: Whānau are able to take their tamariki home after the hangi is served. Please let your child’s classroom teacher know before leaving the school grounds, and sign them out at the office.

  • Friday 8 May: Assembly at 9.15am (all whānau welcome); Taranaki Golf Experience Yr 7-8; Yr 7-8 Basketball. 

Key Dates for Term 2

  • Friday 29 May: Teachers Only Day – No school
  • Monday 1 June: King’s Birthday – No school
  • Friday 3 July: Last day of Term 2 at 2.35pm

Please drive slowly along Regan Street during before and after school times

There is a 30km speed limit during school drop off times. Lately, a number of cars have been speeding during this time. Please can everyone drive slowly during these times to keep our tamariki safe. Whānau can you remind friends and family who also drive along Regan Street during these times. 

Paper Road Access

The road between the Junior Block and the swimming pool is jointly owned by the school and the Stratford District Council. This road is reserved for council staff, school staff, and whānau who hold a valid car park pass.

The Principal issues passes to whānau who require assistance and/or have tamariki with complex needs. All other vehicles are not permitted to use or park on this road.
