Kia ora whānau
As we draw closer to the end of Term 3, I would like to thank all our whānau for their support over the term. We are lucky to have wonderful supportive parents in our school community, which has been evident during the various events over the course of the term. I hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable school holiday over the next two weeks.
Stratford Primary School Won the Burkhart Cup Netball Final:
Stratford Primary came up against a strong Bell Block team in a closely contested netball game. Stratford got off to an unbelievable start, putting plenty of pressure on Bell Block early on. Bell Block fought back strongly in the second quarter, but their efforts were not enough to close the gap. After a tough and exciting battle, Stratford Primary School came away with the win, finishing 22–13.
Year 7-8 Girls Basketball Final:
Stratford Primary School came up against a strong 67 Shifters team in a game of two halves. Stratford started strongly and put up a great fight in the first half, keeping the game competitive. 67 Shifters found their rhythm in the second half and began to pull away. Stratford battled hard until the final whistle, but 67 Shifters proved too strong winning 46 – 26.
Taranaki Cross Country Results:
Well done to the 29 ākonga who ran in the Taranaki Cross Country on Wednesday in Hawera. We are proud of their achievements in such horrible conditions on the day.
What is happening in Week 1, Term 4?
- Monday 12 October: Summer Term begins at 8.45am; Te Reo Māori Online. Bell times: 8.45am – ākonga are expected in class; 11.00 – 11.30am Interval (Bell); 1.10 – 1.40pm Lunch (Bell); School Finishes at 2.55pm; Swimming Years 5-8.
- Tuesday 13 October: Pōwhiri at 9.00am for new whānau; Huranga Whānui – Digital Design and Visual Art; Swimming Years 1-4.
- Wednesday 14 October: Huranga Whānui – Digital Design and Visual Art.
- Thursday 15 October: Kapa Haka.
- Friday 16 October: Assembly at 9.15am – all whānau are welcome to attend.
Key Future Dates Term 4
- Friday 9 October – Teachers will be onsite all day; I.E.P Meetings will be held for some ākonga. Parents will be notified about this.
- Swimming starts in Week 1 of Term 4 – A notice will be sent out on the School App.
- Monday 12 October – Summer Term begins: School will now finish at 2.55pm for all of Term 4, 2026.
- Labour Day – Monday 26 October – No school.
- Puanga Festival – Wednesday 28 October the Teina Roopu perform at 11.30am. Whānau need to arrive at least 30minutes before to gain entry to the Waitara War Memorial Hall. Bring a Gold Coin donation. Friday 30 October the Tuakana Roopu perform at 10.00am. Whānau need to arrive at least 30 minutes before to gain entry to the Waitara War Memorial Hall. Bring a Gold Coin donation.
- Year 7-8 Triathlon: Friday 27 November.
- Swimming Sports: Friday 4 December – Year 5-8.
- Senior Social: Thursday 10 December – Year 7-8.
- Big Day Out – Year 7-8: Monday 14 December.
- Home and School Colour Run: Friday 11 December.
- Leavers Assembly: Tuesday 15 December. Be seated in the hall by 12.45pm.
- Final Assembly: Wednesday 16 December at 11.00am.
- Final School Day: Wednesday 16 December at 12.00pm.
