Classroom Placements for 2027:

The process for organising classroom placements for ākonga in 2027 will begin at the end of this term. If whānau have a specific reason they would like the Leadership Team to consider when placing their tamariki in a class for 2027, please email the appropriate person below.

Please note that not all requests can be accommodated due to the complex nature of organising 17 classrooms. A wide range of factors are considered when creating balanced classes that best meet the needs of all ākonga.

The final date for submitting a classroom placement request is Thursday 24 September 2026 (Week 10, Term 3). Whānau can email:

# Year 5-8: Mr Jason Dombroski (jasond@sps.kiwi.nz).

Wearable World – Presented by the Year 7-8 Syndicate:

Year 7–8 ākonga will be showcasing their Wearable Arts designs. See the attached flyer for further details, as well as the message on the School App.

What is happening next week?

  • Monday 14 September: Te Reo Māori Online.
  • Tuesday 15 September: Huranga Whānui – Food Tech, Dance and Photo Animation; Junior Pakiki – Guest Speaker on Hygiene and Nutrition. 
  • Wednesday 16 September: Huranga Whānui – Food Tech, Dance and Photo Animation; Year 7-8 Wearable Arts Show from 6 – 7.15pm (See the flyer below). 
  • Thursday 17 September: Kapa Haka; Year 5-6 Golf Day; Sport Taranaki; Room 13 to the Library; Ākonga Council; Out of Zone Applications for Term 4 due by 5.00pm; Year 7-8 Wearable Arts Show from 6 – 7.15pm (See the flyer below).
  • Friday 18 September: Assembly at 9.15am – all whānau are welcome to attend; Tough Kid Challenge – Year 7-8; School Disco (See the flyer below). 

Key Future Dates for Term 3

  • Friday 25 September: Last day of Term 3. School finishes at 2.35pm. End of the Winter Hours. 
  • Monday 12 October – Summer Term begins: School will now finish at 2.55pm for all of Term 4, 2026.
