Yesterday, the final Year 8 Leavers Assembly was a very special occassion. Whānau can be extremely proud of all our 59 Year 8 Graduates. On behalf of all our support staff, teachers and tamariki, thank you whānau for your support this year. Wishing everyone a safe, enjoyable Christmas and New Year. We look forward to seeing all our tamariki return to school on Monday 2 February 2026.
New Enrolments for 2026:
Whānau can email office@sps.kiwi.nz to enquire about new enrolments for 2026. Tamariki who live within the school zone are able to automatically enrol at Stratford Primary School. Enrolment tours will be held on the following days before Term 1, 2026 starts:|
# Wednesday 28 January from 10 – 12pm, the office will be open for the purchase of Math books
# Thursday 29 January from 12pm – 2pm, the office will be open for the purchase of Math books
# Times are booked through the office.

My tamariki is anxious about the start of the new school year, what can I do?
It is natural for tamariki to feel anxious at the start of a school year. Whānau are welcome to contact their child’s classroom teacher in the last week of January to make a time to pop into class before school starts. All teachers will be onsite from Wednesday 28 January 2026. Email to book a time. Teachers contact details can be found here.
Getting prepared for Term 1, 2026:
All tamariki will need a named hat and drink bottle.
Free School Lunches are provided by Compass. If you child is not already registered contact the office.
Stationery lists can be found here on the school website.
Whānau need to complete the various forms before school starts. These have been sent on the School App. Contact the office if you require hard copies.
Term Dates for 2026:
Term 1: Monday 2 February to Thursday 2 April (Summer Term, school finishes at 2.55pm)
# Monday 2 February: Whole school starts at 8.45am; pōwhiri for new whānau time TBC. School finishes at 2.55pm.
# Friday 6 February: Waitangi Day
# Friday 6 March: Teachers Only Day – Maths PLD
# Monday 9 March: Taranaki Anniversary
# Thursday 2 April: Last day of Term 1, school finishes at 2.55pm.
Mathematics Curriculum Teachers Only Day:
Stratford Primary School has one Teachers Only Day in Term 1. See below for details.
When: Friday 6 March 2026
Why: Teachers will be taking part in further Curriculum Development for Mathematics. School will be closed on this day.
