Stratford Primary School is committed towards supporting local sports clubs. This is achieved through promoting player registration and providing the school fields (after school hours).
Stratford Primary School has also looked into creating an indoor complex for school and community use. The school had explored this idea with the Stratford District Council. However, this was put on hold due to the swimming pool complex being built (e.g. funding).
At present, the school supports:
Stratford Athletics Club: They are the first priority for using the school fields for athletics during the summer months. The club also store their equipment at the school.
Stratford Cricket Club: The school provides use of two cricket pitches (outside athletic events) for junior teams to use.
Touch Football: Aaron Moore runs the local touch competition. See the website (Touch section) for further details. Taranaki Touch have also used the fields for representative training sessions.
Stratford Junior Rugby Club: Junior rugby is held on the grounds during the rugby season.
Stratford Rugby League: Junior league teams train on the school grounds.
To book the grounds:
Clubs will have to sign a MoU to use the fields. In some cases, a bond may be required. The school reserves the right to close the fields during wet weather.
