Kia ora whānau
On Tuesday, Reports, Individual Educational Plans and Stationery Lists will be going home. As part of the stationery list, ākonga will learn their class placement for 2026. Next year, we have a very stable teaching team, which is highlighted below:
- Leadership Team: Mr Jason Elder (Principal), Mrs Deborah Campbell (Deputy Principal), Mr Jason Dombroski (Associate Principal) and Mr Chad Jacob (Leadership Support/Specialised Health and PE Teacher/Lead for the Huranga Whānui Programme (New Technology Programme).
- Year 7-8 Team: Home Teachers – Mr Gareth King (Team Leader/Room 1), Ms Jo Todd (Room 2), Miss Angela Chubb (Room 3) and Mr Geoff Dingle (Room 4). Miss Greer McQuay returns to S.P.S full time. She will be working across the team with Ms Suzanne Taylor.
- Year 5-6 Team: Miss Tullia Cutler (Room 5), Miss Lauren Giddy (Room 6), Miss Emily Bates (Room 7) and Mrs Kim Chadwick (Team Leader/Room 8). Mr John Hight will be coming out of the classroom to cover release. He will still have a strong connection across the Year 5-6 Team. Miss Lauren Giddy returns full time from her study.
- Year 3-4 Team: Mrs Emma Garlick (Room 15), Miss Lydia Barber (Room 18), Mrs Aimee Woodhead (Room 19) and MissTori Goble (Team Leader and Room 20).
- Year 1-2 Team: Miss Nicole Bellringer (Room 9), Miss Jayla Berge, Mrs Jo Patterson, Mrs Sonia Rova (Team Leader/Room 13) and Mrs Cath Uhlenberg (Room 14).
- Specialist Teachers: Mrs Jessica Thomson (Literacy Coach), Mrs Erin Webb (Huranga Whānui (New Technology Programme), and Mrs Sheenagh Fairclough (Kapa Haka).
- Teacher Release: Mr John Hight, Mr Chris Garlick, Mrs Alise Benson, Miss Ruth Boardman (Term 2+), Mrs Angela Robinson and Miss Alyssa Coombe.
Senior Prize Giving: Thursday 11 December from 1pm. Please arrive by 12.40pm to secure a seat.
Community Questionnaire: Thank you to over 160 whānau who have completed the survey that was shared out a couple of weeks ago. We will be closing the survey next week. # Monday 1 December: Ākonga Council Day.
# Tuesday 2 December: Swimming – Year 1-4; Reports, IEPs and Stationery Lists for 2026 go home.
# Wednesday 3 December: Swimming – Year 5-8.
# Thursday 4 December: Kapa Haka – 1.50pm – 2.55pm; Sport Taranaki in school; Yr 8 v Teachers Basketball game @ 1.15pm.
# Friday 5 December: Assembly at 9.15am, all whānau are welcome to attend; Road Patrol Training.
