Important Reminders:
Speeches:
Children in Years 5-8 are currently working on their speeches. Each syndicate speech finals will be held in Week Four and the school speech finals are on Thursday 25 May from 9.15am – 11.00 (approximately). Please encourage your child to practise with you at home. Parents are very welcome to join us for the school finals in the hall.

Winter Sport:
Winter sport is fast approaching. Team lists and draws can be found on our School App and School Website. These will let you know when and where you need to be. If you are unable to find your child’s name in a team list please let us know. 
Please help coaches and managers by ensuring the following:

  • Your child/ren have everything they need – mouthguards are compulsory for basketball.
  • If your child/ren are unable to attend a practise or a game then please let the coach know as soon as possible.
  • And most importantly please remember the following…
    • Encourage them with positivity
    • Allow them to play
    • Allow your child to make mistakes
    • Support the whole team
    • Respect everyone on the pitch / field / court
    • Allow the coach to do their job
    • Be conscious that your behaviour rubs off
    • Do not place too much importance on the result

Wet Weather:
As we progress through the Winter term, rainy days are becoming a more regular feature. Please ensure that ākonga have the necessary clothing to keep themselves dry and healthy. On these days please be extra vigilant when dropping or collecting children from school. Tamariki can become easily distracted and are not aware of what is going on around them. 

Sickness:
As the weather changes, students can become ill.  Please remember to send in an absentee message to the office, you must let the office know, even if you have told the teacher. 
If we do not hear from you at all your child will be marked truant.  We have several ways in which you can contact the office.

  • Via the absentee icon in the School App
  • Via a phone call to school and leave a message (option 1)
  • Via the School Website using the Absentees tab
  • Or you can respond to the text that is sent out from the School Office.

Week 3 (8 – 12 May):

-Thursday 11 May: Kapa Haka, Kahui Ako Super Staff Meeting for teachers
-Friday 5 May: 9.15am Assembly
