Tēnā Koutou Katoa

On Monday, we welcomed new staff, whānau and their tamariki into the school. Parents will be super proud of the manaakitanga that was shown during the welcome, while our Kapa Haka Roopu and leaders were outstanding, particularly as it was the first day of the term!

Winter Sports: Basketball, Hockey and Netball information is regularly sent out via the School App. Please ensure you are receiving the correct notifications. To check your setting on the School App, go to:
# The three lines at the top left of the School App.
# Click ‘Alert Subscriptions’.
# Select the Syndicate is correctly ticked for your tamariki e.g. Year 3 – 4.
# Check the Sports Notifications and tick what ones you would like to receive notifications from e.g. Netball, Hockey and Basketball.

Notices sent on the School App can also be found on the school website. Click here to view the ‘Notices’ section. There are also dedicated pages for Winter Sports (Click here to view Football, Gymnastics, Hockey and Netball information), Basketball (click here) and Cross Country.

Winter Weather and Sickness: It has been pleasing to see the number of tamariki who are arriving at school with shoes, socks and warm clothing to match the weather. Ka rawe. Please remember to name all clothing and teach your tamariki the importance of being responsible for their clothing. At the end of Term 1, we had a large pile of Lost Property that was not collected. This was then donated to a local charity. As a community, we need to educate tamariki at home around the value of looking after their clothing.

If your child is unwell, please keep them home. If they are suffering from allergies, let the classroom teacher know.

Students arriving before 8.15am: We have had students arrive before 8.15am. I would like to remind whānau, that students are not allowed on site until after 8.15am as this is for health and safety reasons.  If you have any concerns or questions, please contact the office.

Week 2, Term 2: Monday 6 – 10 May
# Tuesday 7 May: Ākonga Council; SENCO IEPs.
# Thursday 9 May: Kapa Haka.
# Friday 10 May: Assembly (All Whānau are welcome to attend).
