Tēnā koutou katoa (Greetings to everyone in the community)

Teams have begun working on the ‘School Dance Project’. This is an exciting new project. Each class across the school will develop a dance. Later this term, dances will be recorded. A video of all the dances together will then be made and shared with the community at a later date. The theme of the Dance Project is the ‘Commonwealth Games’. 

Board elections: Please make sure you have completed your voting paper and return it to the voting box in the office by Wednesday 7 September at 12pm. If you need to read about the candidates click here for a link to the school website. 

Parent Interviews 30 August and 1 September 2022: Remember to book your interview time. View this link for booking details.  Please note, Room 15 Parent Interviews will be on Wednesday and Thursday.

Tough Guy Challenge at SHS for Year 7-8: Permission slips were sent home yesterday. This event is planned for next Wednesday. Ākonga need to return their permission slips to attend. Click here to view the notice. Please note, extra permission slips are available at the office. 

Daffodil Day is next Friday (26 August): Ākonga can bring a gold coin donation to school and dress up in yellow to support this great cause.  

Changes to events:
# The Sports Exchange with Manukorihi Intermediate has been postponed to later in the term. A date has yet to be finalised. 
# The School X-Country has been postponed. A new date will be advertised as soon as possible. 

Future Term Dates:
# Wednesday 24 August: Tough Guy Challenge for Yr 7-8 at SHS; Kahui Ako Kapa Haka from 3.30pm
# Thursday 25 August: Yr 7-8 7-Aside Rugby Tournament, Kapa Haka
# Friday 26 August: Yr 1-2 Assembly in the Hall at 9am; Yr 5-8 Assembly in the Hall at 9.30am. All whānau are welcome to attend; Year 7-8 Technology. Daffodil Day. 
# Tuesday 30 August and Thursday 1 September: School finishes at 1pm due to the Parent Interviews. If whānau need their tamariki to be supervised until 2.35pm, please contact your classroom teacher. The Late Bus Role will still continue on both days. 
# Friday 2 September: No School (Ministry of Education Teachers Only Day)
