Well done to Mr Dombroski and the School Council for a super Pink Shirt Day. Our School Councillors raised $295.00 for Pink Shirt Day, which supports the Mental Health Foundation to reduce bullying. It was great to see our school community rocking the Pink Shirt look.
Important Reminders:
Rob Cope – Cyber Safety Parents Evening
Stratford High School hall on Thursday 8 June from 7 – 9pm.
This is an excellent presentation that is worthwhile for parents of children of all ages. In this fast paced and technologically advanced world it is vital that whānau have the tools and knowledge to navigate this alongside their children. We would love to see as many whānau there as possible.
Rob’s mantra – We need to tackle this as a community so that all of our kids are safe. When you protect yours kids online, you are also protecting mine and when I protect my kids online, I am also protecting yours.
Attendance at school is vital for our tamariki.
Our goal is 90% attendance from all students who are well enough to attend school.
Making sure your child is at school and ready to learn, before the school bell rings, is key to ensure they do not miss out on key learning and start their school day settled. We therefore encourage parents to aim for 8.30am. This means there is a 25 minute window before the second bell at 8.55am for them to settle and prepare for their school day, this includes catching up with friends!
Being 15 minutes late each day is the same as missing two weeks of school! See our minutes lost calculator below to find out how much school you miss each year if you are late:
19 days would equal almost four weeks of lost learning. How quickly a few minutes here and there add up over the year.
Week 5 (22 – 26 May):
– Wednesday 24 May: IEP meetings continue
– Thursday 25 May: Year 5 – 8 Speech Finals / Kapa Haka
– Friday 26 May: 9.15am Assembly
