Holiday Message, Term 4 2023: Next week’s message from Jason Elder

Tomorrow is the last day of Term 3, where we finish school at 2.35pm. Remember, next term we will finish at 2.55pm for the Summer Term Hours. 

We will be sending a note home tomorrow reminding whānau about up and coming whole school swimming lessons that start on the first Monday of next term. Key points are:

Swimming will be on a Monday and Wednesday. Classes will either swim on an odd or even week. However, to save any confusion pack their togs every Monday and Wednesday. 

  • Please note tamariki will not be able to ring home for togs.
  • There is no cost for the swimming programme.
  • Tamariki will walk down in class groups.
  • Please ensure togs and towels are named and in a bag. 
  • If tamariki have their own goggles please ensure they are named. We have a limited supply at school. 
  • Further swimming updates will be posted on the school website next term and via the School App. Click here to view.

Touch Rugby is back for Term 4. Run every Tuesday at SPS, Years 2, 3, 4 from 4.30-5pm; Years 5, 6 from 5-5.30pm and Year 7-8 from 5.30-6pm. $10 subs. This will begin the first Tuesday of Term 4. Week 1 (9 – 13 October):
# Monday 9 October: School starts at 8.45am and finishes at 2.55pm; Swimming begins. 
# Tuesday 10 October: Learning IEPs (Whānau will be contacted).  
# Wednesday 11 October: Swimming.
# Thursday 12 October: Kapa Haka.
# Friday 13 October: Assembly at 9.15am (All whānau are welcome); SENCO IEPs (Whānau will be contacted).
