Friday 6 December 2024 Tēnā Koutou Katoa We have an exciting final week at SPS. We look forward to welcoming whānau to the final Year 8 Leavers Assembly on Thursday 12 December in the school hall. Parents are encouraged to arrive by 12.45pm as seating will be limited. The assembly will start at 1pm.  On Friday, we will hold our final fun assembly at 11am. All whānau are welcome to attend. Friday 22 November 2024Tēnā Koutou Katoa Regan Street is being closely monitored by the Police. Remember, the speed limit is still 30 km at all times. The Stratford District Council has advised this will change in the near future to a variable speed zone.  Next week, ākonga will get the opportunity to spend time in their 2025 syndicates. Students will spend twenty minutes in each of the four different classrooms. Friday 8 November 2024Tēnā Koutou Katoa Wow, what a wonderful seven days we have had at Stratford Primary School. Our Tuakana Roopu did exceptionally well at last weeks Puanga Festival. Most of our tamariki are remembering to bring their hats to school and wear them when outside. If tamariki forget their hats they will be directed to a designated shaded area. Tēnā Koutou Katoa Thank you to all of our whānau who supported the opening of the Book Fair. We had over 70 parents, grandparents, aunties, uncles, and family members attend the welcome led by our Kapa Haka Tuakana Roopu. Before the welcome, our Year 5-6 Leaders asked Whānau to complete a short survey around future parent education with regards to Writing and Mathematics. Tēnā Koutou Katoa Tomorrow we are celebrating Daffodil Day.  Tamariki are encouraged to dress up in yellow and bring along a gold coin donation. Thank you to our Ākonga Council who have been selling Daffodil Day items to raise money for this great cause.  A friendly reminder that we have no assembly tomorrow due to the hall being used for the Epro8 Inter School Finals. Friday 16 August 2024Tēnā Koutou Katoa Well done to our Olympic Champions. Our Year 5-6 Rugby and Netball Teams both won the large schools competition in New Plymouth, which is a significant achievement. A massive thank you to our wonderful Sports Coordinator, teachers who coached and parents for their fantastic support. Scores were:- Rugby: S.P.S 77 - 22 won against Puketapu School.- Netball: S.P.S 10 - 6 won against Puketapu School. Thursday 30 May 2024Tēnā Koutou Katoa Tamariki have enjoyed the week. Our Year 5-6 ākonga were involved in the local Rippa Rugby Tournament, which was run superbly by the Taranaki Rugby Union. It was great to see so many tamariki competing against each other over the day.
