Dear Parents, Whānau, and Caregivers
On Tuesday 7 May, our teaching staff who are NZEI Te Riu Roa members headed to meetings to hold a secret ballot on whether to accept or reject the latest collective agreement offers from the government and possible strike action should they be rejected.
As you may be aware the PPTA (Post Primary Teachers Association) and the NZEI (New Zealand Educational Institute) announced the move to strike on the 12 May. This will involve almost 50,000 primary, secondary teachers and primary principals on the 29 May 2019. The decision to strike was not taken lightly, we appreciate the support we have received from the wider community.
